Who are we?

Our Vision

Our vision is ‘Empowering People’.

This vision starts in our workplace, where Advice Direct Scotland is fully committed to delivering the principles of Fair Work First.

Fair Work is work that offers all employees an effective voice, opportunity, security, respect, and fulfilment.

Advice Direct Scotland employs policies which support a positive, inclusive working environment where the skills and talents of our employees are realised. We ensure that all of our employees are supported, encouraged and empowered to achieve their potential through guided professional and personal development in our SQA-accredited Training Academy. As Scotland’s first contact centre to achieve the Living Wage accreditation, we are immensely proud of our commitment to fair and equal pay. Our status as one of only approximately 30 UK organisations currently operating a “Four Day, Same Pay” working week, ensures our staff have an unparalleled work/life balance. We are also committed to the principles of equality and opportunity, promoting diversity for all in employment, training, service provision and within decision-making structures. We aim for our employees, managers, board, and service users to be truly representative of all sections of society. All staff are assured that they have an effective voice and are engaged and valued as members of our organisation. We positively recognise trade union membership.

Our experience in designing and delivering the latest iteration of the Workplace Equality Fund on behalf of the Scottish Government has only served to bolster our understanding of and commitment to fair work practices. As part of this contract, we work alongside almost 30 organisations across the private, public and third sectors to embed and disseminate Fair Work First practices throughout Scotland.
